Meet Kevin

Kevin is a lifelong New Yorker having spent his entire adult life in the service of others as a law enforcement officer with the NYPD. His experience on the streets of New York prepared him well for this latest assignment. As president of Kevin Lyons Ministries (KLM), he teaches, equips and imparts fresh revelation that’s released quickly and easily understood; known for his quick wit and humor he is known for releasing impartation and laughter in a New York minute.

Kevin and his wife, Cindy, began their professional careers with the New York Police Department in the 1980’s. Kevin retired as a Lieutenant after 20 years of distinguished service. He served under Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly in a unique capacity, caring for the widows and children of deceased police officers and their families. He became a cop to “help others” and discovered there is no better call than to help your own in their most urgent time of need.

Being a cop is somewhat similar to being a pastor – sworn to “protect, defend and serve” even to the point of laying down your own life. Growing up in the city, attending public school and working as a NYC cop has prepared him well to work with diverse groups of people. This ability to relate is necessary when building and equipping in an ethnically diverse city and world.

Cindy’s heart for others is demonstrated by her 35-year career as a civilian manager, where she skillfully handles the needs of thousands of employees within the New York City Human Resources Administration.

Kevin met his mentor, Dr. Randy Clark, while a student attending a summer intensive with Global Awakening Ministries. The old adage, “when the student is ready the teacher will appear” is true and a Paul and Timothy relationship formed. In 2017, he entered the seminary and graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in Ministry from Global Awakening Theological Seminary. Although a five-year program, Kevin completed the degree in two and a half years, a proud member of the school’s first graduating class in April, 2019. This experience fine-tuned his gifts, giving him the ability to move and minister under the anointing with ease.

Appointed by the Lord to “awaken a city and shake the world,” Kevin a fourth generation New Yorker whose family migrated from “Hell’s Kitchen” to Queens, seeks to birth revival in NYC and from there touch the world for Christ.

Kevin has an apostolic calling to roust, equip and send the saints into battle. This requires both the prophetic and apostolic working together to build, plant and water; teach others how to flow in signs and wonders, miracles and healing, and impart these gifts to others.
